LOFT CONVERSIONS
A carefully planned loft conversion can be an ideal way of giving you an extra bedroom, a new office or other addition to your living accommodation, at a cost which is well below that of a full-blown extension. Many properties have an underutilised loft which is suitable for conversion, and for an increasing number of people, this is becoming a popular alternative for getting extra space without moving house.
Planning permission is not normally required for the majority of loft conversions as the works can be carried out under permitted development, subject to a few conditions, but building control approval will still be required.

However, a stand-alone or side attached garage may require planning permission for a change of use. BARN CONVERSION
Adapting a farm barn into a house or commercial premises is a perfect way to attain a property that is both full of character and purposely designed for modern living. You will normally need planning permission to convert them into a habitable building of any kind but depending on the condition of the property to start with, it may be considered permitted development.
New barns can be erected but generally they have to be non-residential for ten years prior to the conversion. They are however permitted for agricultural use or storage.

Whilst we specialise in ‘hand cut roof’ construction (which is the traditional method of cutting the timber on-site and building up the roof using rafters, ridge boards, joists and purlins etc), we also provide the following roofing services.
